Fairfield, KNOWN VIOLIN MAKERS 7th edition
Now in its 7th edition, this 255 page hard-bound book is the only English-language retail violin price guide published in the last twenty years. Used by dealers and collectors around the world, this work is priced low enough to be of great interest to the casual violin aficionado as well.

The main section lists alphabetically the world's best-known violin makers with some biographical information and the 1942 dollar values of their violins (from the original edition.) Appendices give updated values for these violins for 2006, as well as pricing information on the greatest bow makers.
